Matryoshka

I didn’t know what to wear today (Dec.8, 2009), so I looked around my room for inspiration and I found it in my new Russian nesting doll. The eyes are the same colours as the flowers on her dress/apron, and the lipstick is the colour of the base paint. The highlight is gold tone, as the gold on the doll is real gold leaf.

Time of the Moon

This look is based off the t.A.T.u. song "Время Луны", pronounced "Vremya Luni". It means "Time of the Moon".



The Backstory: This song appears on t.A.t.u.’s third Russian album entitled Happy Smiles. The English version will be released on December 15, 2009.
The song has a very upbeat and fun tempo, but the lyrics are a bit darker.

The Look: The look is based off a sky scene with glittery stars and shiny reflections. The main colour is Moon’s Reflection, which is really fitting for what I wanted to accomplish and just as a reference to the title.
It took me a while to pick a lipstick, because I wanted a neutral sheer, only about a share darker than my actual lip colour.

So, today (Dec. 2, 2009) I'm going to visit my sick cousin (details in my pagan journal, check the sidebar), and since we are going after school, i'm almost certain some of her other friends will be there. Discovery

So, I did a look today (Nov. 23rd, 2009) based on 2001 A Space Odyessy. This one is called Discovery, after the ship.



The Inspiration: The sperm-ship Discovery in 2001, A Space Odyssey


The Backstory: After the discovery on the moon, the American Space Association builds the world’s fastest ship, the Discovery, to go to Jupiter. The main crew of Dave Bowman and Frank Poole think it is a simple mission when, in fact, it isn’t.
Discovery herself looks vaguely like a giant sperm floating through space, but is a beautiful silvery-grey ship, pristinely floating through the cosmos.
The ship, however, get’s abandoned and shut down shortly after HAL, the onboard computer, stages a munity against Bowman and Poole, killing Poole in the process.
